Steve Kahn is an artist and award-winning photographer with 30 years of experience creating compelling images for major corporate, editorial and entertainment clients. He has photographed annual reports for the entire spectrum of global business including defense, health care, energy, entertainment, finance, manufacturing and housing.
Steve's clients include Northrop Corporation, Goldman Sachs, International Paper, Wyeth, Xerox and Amerada Hess. Assignments have taken him to oil fields in Alaska, copper mines in Peru, remote villages in West Africa, export centers in Asia, power plants in India and les jardins de Paris.
He has a clear understanding of corporate, designer and administrative needs, successfully integrating exciting color, strong graphic compositions and emotional content to effectively communicate the client's message.
A National Endowment for the Arts fellowship recipient, Steve has also exhibited internationally with work in the collections of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris.
In 1999, Rizzoli International published Steve's book "SoHo NY" a unique portrait documenting New York's landmark cast-iron district and stylish artist community.
Although Steve built his career using traditional film cameras, he has embraced digital photography, becoming a master of all aspects of digital imaging, web publication and digital asset management.
He has taught graduate students at California Institute of the Arts and the Art Institute of Chicago. Most recently he was an instructor of Digital and Advanced Photography at Pratt in New York.
Columbia Pictures hired Steve for its "Spiderman" films to create Peter Parker's portfolio of images. He photographed New York locations as backdrops and digitally inserted his own studio shots of the star. The resulting composite images were featured prominently in both "Spiderman" movies.
Steve is a consummate problem solver, creatively and efficiently managing all aspects of a project. Along with his excellent communication skills, technical savvy, extensive experience and positive attitude, he brings a highly valued, full-service approach to each project.
